Thinking About Transferring Already

Ok, this is my story so please read and help me out.
:)

Well i started high school really good and got majority As and it went downhill my junior and senior year. I continued taking the toughest course load and did decent. I was applying to private schools, majority LACs, but I never finished because my mother was going through health issues so I didnt really have time to do them, so i ended up just applying to UCs. I will be attending UCLA in the fall and I was wondering If I do really good, would I be able to transfer out in one year, or would I have to wait 2 years?

Thank you

where are you trying to apply to?
almost ANY college would prefer you apply after just one year as opposed to two.

some also let you apply after one semester (generally a november 1 due date)

Well im looking at mid to upper tier LACs such ash Swat, Whitman, Grinnell and schools like that. I rather have a smaller school environment and also have that LAC feel. I know that its a better fit for me.

I was accepted to Swat, Wesleyan, Smith, still pending on Bryn Mawr as a sophomore. do apply for transfer after just one year, your chances are much better.

why would it be better?

because you're handing $150,000 vs $100,000 in tuition to them, and the small campus communities are largely shaped by he contributions of their students, so you need to feel as much a part of the campus as possible to be an optimum member. also, it's much easier to handle transfer credits if you've taken less courses (and BELIEVE ME, that shiz gets MESSY...you should see the degree audits from my accepted schools).

oh ok
thank you
