Thinking of Self-studying...AP Econ?

<p>For those who have self studied ap econ macro/micro, how did you do it and were you able to get a 4 or 5? Is it one of the "easier" aps?
Which of the 2 is easier if I only want to do one. I would prefer the one with less graphs and math, and with more memorization.
Is Princeton Review or Kaplan good enough for a 5, or do I need a textbook?
Do I have enough time if I start now and put in atleast 4 hours every week until May?</p>

<p>It is hard, but doable. I had a friend who did it (but he took already took one of AP econ. courses, so…).</p>

<p>its very simple. First, read up on the exam, go to the college board site and read the course description:</p>

<p>It tells you alot of information but this is what you should make sure to know:

  1. topics on the exam (and their percetage on the exam)
  2. How the exam works (how many minutes for multiple choice, is there an essay etc)</p>

<p>At the bottom are some sample multiple choice questions. Read those questions, they are going to be similar to what you will be asked on the real exam. This information is important to know because it tells you EXACTLY what to expect on the exam!</p>

<p>Next step is to set up a self-study plan. Use whatever resources to prepare. Textbooks are okay but not necessary. You can use a review book or you can use an online review. Make sure its custom tailored for the exam, otherwise you will spend alot of time learning material that will never be tested on the exam. Ap exams are replacements for introductory courses in college so there is no need to study advanced mirco/macroeconomic topics. You should be done learning all the facts about 1 month before the exam (its critical that you stay on time). 1 month before the exam, start practicing for the exam. Take practice tests, write some essays, review flash cards, whatever works for you. There is tons of resources out there for you to use.</p>
