This forum's title should be changed to "Religious Colleges"

still laughing... :)

Well, FWIW, it was scary at times, but it turned out very well. I have the utmost respect for my D (and her teachers, friends and their families). She recently graduated after 14 yrs there; she did not want to leave that school, but we can talk about our differences , and she DID choose a "secular" university. (I did not even KNOW that word!). I have been schooled and will never think of "Christian" the same way (and I went to Catholic school for 10 years).

Wow, lots of hate and false info on this thread from people, some of whom apparently belong to a religious group that is often complaining about any slight, and has "non-real-world" rituals every bit as "odd" as Christian ones.

Catholics and Mormons are Christians, period. The definition of "Christian" isn't very tough to figure out. Don't presume to know what people "really" mean when they say "Christian." "Protestant" includes an enormous array of faiths, some of which are much closer to Catholicism than they are to some other Protestant denominations. Furthermore, there are lots of Greek, Russian, Serbian (etc.) "Eastern Orthodox" people in the US that are neither Protestant nor Roman Catholic, yet they are still Christian.

Invading the forum- I'd much rather be Christlike than "Christian". Posts I've seen showcase many reasons if Christ were to show up in today's society he would have to do a lot of damage control to things done in his name. Do people conveniently forget the parts of their bible about Peter and the rock upon which to build his church when they decide Catholics aren't Christian? Pick and choose what makes you the good guys, afraid to allow differences of opinion, sounds so much the antithesis of what Christ, a Jew, was trying to do. So much nasty behavior- remember the Good Samaritan was better than the people of the "proper" belief.

They'll change the name when posts dry up. There aren't enough people to talk about Bob Jones or Liberty University. Unfortunately "Christian" has taken on a new meaning in recent years.

Christ is not a religion.
The world has religions.
Christ has the church.
A forum for religious schools could not include Christ.
Christ is not a religion.

While I understand the topic-starter's point, I would imagine that the number of Christian-affiliated schools and universities far outnumbers those of other faiths. Although it certainly would be a good idea to make a category for other religious schools, I'm guessing there isn't enough demand at present.

ya i think so too
