I think that this is the best song ever. It has no profanity, and has a deep message. I Can't stop listening to it,lol.

The song is by LowKey, and it's called Terrorist?

Well here it is: LOWKEY - TERRORIST? (OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO) - YouTube

He really reminds me of Lupe Fiasco with the way he sounds and the beat to this song.

This is may favorite part:

They're calling me a terrorist
Like they don't know who the terror is
When they put it on me, I tell them this
I'm all about peace and love
They calling me a terrorist
Like they don't know who the terror is
Insulting my intelligence
Oh how these people judge..

What do you guys think about it? Did you like it?

Ehh I didn’t like it.

I’m not really into rap.

It’s cool if you don’t like rap. I just especially liked it because it distances itself from the typical rap style of Lil’ Wayne. Tyga, and all the other “hoodlums” who don’t know what they’re spewing out of their mouths. Have you guys ever listened to Lupe Fiasco “Dumb It Down”?
If not, here’s the link:

[“Dumb It Down” - Lupe Fiasco (Music Video) - YouTube](<a href=“"Dumb It Down" - Lupe Fiasco (Music Video) - YouTube”>"Dumb It Down" - Lupe Fiasco (Music Video) - YouTube)

I think I like these twp artists in particular because they actually have a meaning to their song…so, if rap is not for you, then what song really gets you going, and just makes you look at life in a different perspective?

I find that both of these songs have such obvious messages that I don’t really think there’s much of a point to listening to them. The songs that I like the most are the ones with cryptic meanings that I can’t figure out, where I have to listen to it a bunch of times to come up with my own meaning to the song, and where my interpretation likely won’t match anyone else’s. I guess for reference, the top five most listened to songs in my itunes are: Skinny love (Bon Iver), the general (dispatch), cape cod kwassa kwassa (vampire weekend), pumped up kicks (foster the people), and california (phantom planet).

ahhh, now I understand why you don’t like rap. You seem to like a lot of the more calm and tranquil songs that have a guitar playing. Personally, those type of songs aren’t my favorite. So, what do you guys listen to when you gotta get pumped up and just ready to go. Again, here’s another rap/hip hop. I really like this one because of the beat and the"high" that you get while listening to it, lol. You all almost definitely know this song, its been everywhere.

[Eminem - Not Afraid - YouTube](<a href=“Eminem - Not Afraid - YouTube”>Eminem - Not Afraid - YouTube)

wow, litening to it right now, and I feel like everything is possible. Ill probably stop listing rap/hip-hop songs now since I know you guys don’t like them… :)

*Even if you don’t like rap, just blast this when you’re feeling down, and you’ll feel like you can do anything. True story, bro

Haha alwaysleah, three of your top five are on mine too. I’m not a big fan of rap, either.

^vampire weekend, i’m assuming.

why don’t you guys like rap/hip-hop, and instead like this…just curious. And I’m not talking about the Lil wayne style “rap”, I generally listen to rap that has meaning, has a very very nice beat to it, and basically someone who is underground. All of the ones on the radio and are hyped up are horrible…So, back o the question, what don’t you like about rap?

I don’t know… I just don’t find it enjoyable. It kinds of hurts my ears.

Oh, when I have to get “pumped up,” I listen to Paolo Nutini, stuff like Hello (Martin Solvieg), Glad you Came (The Wanted), Tonight Tonight (Hot Chelle Rae), etc.

ehhh…still not my type, but better than the other ones, lol…It’s all cool. I wonder if alsmot all CCer’s those type of songs (slow, guitar…etc. antithesis of rap…lol)

I find rap to be just fast talking to a beat.

Some of Vampire Weekend’s songs make my ears bleed. I enjoy the rampant (yet oddly subtle) social criticism found in a lot of Radiohead’s work. For those of you who are into rap (I’m not a huge fan, so when I listen to a certain artist they must be fantastic), Das Racist completely blows others out of the water when it comes to meaningful lyricism.

^I agree completely. In December, Drinking Horchata is absolutely terrible, in my opinion. I love radiohead. I can’t really stand any kind of rap though.

Radiohead is fantastic. Still rocking it when they’re forty. Much respect.

so if someone was to be blaring rap music out of their car, would you guys get angry? If you had a car, would you put your music really loud so that everyone could hear it??

Yeah, not all of Vampire Weekend’s stuff is good. I really don’t like California English. But I enjoy the majority of their music.

@GrammerNazi: I should listen to Radiohead more. I’ve heard Creep, Fake Plastic Trees, and a few others, and I really like what I’m hearing.

@retrohippo: SHUT THE HELL UP. Hahaha.

So much respect for radiohead.

No, I wouldn’t get angry if I heard music I don’t like. I would probably try to get away from the vicinity though. I have a car. I don’t play music super loud because I would like to be able to hear for my entire life.

@Studious

Go to Youtube, and just search “In Rainbows.” Listen to any of the songs (but I’d recommend you listen to 15 Step, Bodysnatchers, Videotape, Arpeggi. The whole album is freaking fantastic though).
