And grandbaby??? Yea!
Oh, and Kate and Toby’s birth mom is in labor, too!

Thanks for the great summary, and funny about the double labor— actually triple labor!
Big gaff. How did he get across the border without his ID, unless he was in the US before he saw the accident
He was less than an hour from Seattle when he came upon the accident - I’m assuming he was already in the US?
Have loved this show from the beginning, but found myself antsy and bit annoyed last night. Was glad (at least so far) Kevin did not get into an accident, but not sure the point of the episode. Why didn’t he call 911 once he had service and could have met them somewhere.
It was saved for me by the scene with Jack and Kevin at the bar sipping sodas and Jack’s reaction to the issues with the coach vs his own dad. And to Randall and Beth staying on the phone with Madison at the end. That was lovely.
Also wish they had just made us wait until January and then just ran the season through.
I was expecting more to happen in last night’s episode also. Besides the repeated tease about the accident - apparently not from his repeated distracted driving. I also wondered why he didn’t call for an ambulance as soon as he got cell service. Although I thought the guy was injured more than apparently he was. And I wondered how he got across the border without his wallet but the idea that he was already in US when he saw the accident makes sense now. I’m a little fuzzy on the geography of that part of the continent, but then again geography details haven’t bothered This is Us writers before. So we assume he had a passport card in that wallet or a passport in his jacket pocket which is also lost since he couldn’t have used just a driver’s license to cross the border.
I also guess this episode solidified a timeline in that it was about a month since Randall talked to the guy in Louisiana. I LOL when he said “we’re still driving home from Louisiana” since it’s been a few weeks for us viewers since he started driving. I wonder if the twins and Kate and Toby’s baby will be born on the same day = the next Little Three.
Good call about “the next little three”.
It’s not always a show’s call when they air. That would be a network decision. And this year, production limitations.
I was super relieved that Kevin did not have an accident. I do think it was an important episode as it solidified the true meaning of family. Kevin left an important job for family. Jack listened to Kevin and stood up to the coach because family. Jack’s jerk dad even gave Jack some kudos for driving because family. Randall and Beth are there - when they least suspected they needed to be helpful for Madison - because she is family. Kevin sends Kate an over the top fruit arrangement because he can’t be there but family.
I think Kevin will probably make it to the hospital. But our episode didn’t show any previews of the next episode - did anyone see previews???
Also have to give a shout out to one of my favorite actors, Josh Malina - recently played David on Scandal - for his role as the injured man!!!
Good one tonight. No spoilers from me!
I liked it, too. I thought that the unexpected bit at the end was very cool.
I liked it, not overly dramatic. Nice to see Nicky.
Yes, really liked it. All the feels in a good way. In the beginning I was wondering about the introduction of new characters again, but was a nice touch with the ending.
Oh, my!!! Finished it 20 minutes ago and I am still crying. It hit a personal nerve with me that I won’t share lest I spoil for others. Memphis will likely always be my #1 favorite episode, but this is going to be in there close for #2 or 3.
It was so nice!
I couldn’t believe it when the man said he needed to park in space number 157 since that’s what their first house address was and it was their lucky number. 157 was our first house number.
We recorded and just watched tonight. LOVED! One of the best episodes in a long time.
I’d like to hear more about Imir (sp?). Most interesting
Great episode.
Spoiler
I thought those International couple were going to be Miguel”s parents. I was disappointed we weren’t going to explore his life more.
I thought so, too, @conmama!
I thought so at first, but realized the dates did not align. Jack was born in 1944, so Miguel was presumably born around then. The first scene with Nasir and Esther was 1963.
I also thought that Nasir was somehow connected to Miguel because he looked like him.
What a wonderful tribute to Nasir and Esther in the midst of a very special episode in so many ways. They did not have to include that piece about them but it was the kind of thing that really should be touching us all this past year - the work Nasir did has saved us all this year.
It didn’t really dawn on me that so much of that episode - nearly every scene - involved someone on the other end of a phone/tablet screen.
Also another checkmark for why and how I adore Randall and Beth so much.
And that scene with Toby and Mr. 157, and the pigs. I was so grateful that baby got Rose for a middle name AND Rose looked like she was going to make it.
Gosh, such a well done episode.
(not for my controversial comment: I STILL think that Madison does not appreciate the lengths that Kevin has gone for her and the babies! I mean, what he went through to get there!!!)
