This just crossed my mind...

<p>What do colleges do with applications once they have served their purpose? Are they thrown out or are they part of your permanent record? I would hope that they are thrown, I wouldn't want my high school grades, etc. to be with me forever.</p>

<p>I agree with bing...most may hold onto them for a period of time (just in case you appeal or have some issue with them regarding the application) before they "sweep" the admissions office in time for the next year's application readings.</p>
