This Might Be A Stupid Question But Here It Goes......

<p>OK, in the US News and World report, it always for every school says under a column,
25th-75% percentile
hypothetical 1200-1410</p>

<p>Is it saying that 25% have a 1200 and 75% a 1410
OR
that if you score 1200 you are in the 25%percentile and if you score 1410 then you are in the 75% percentile for that student body?</p>

<p>Thanks for the clarification, I asked two other people and this stumped them as well, I generally look to see if I am anywhere within those scores but just curious how that works, thank you!:)</p>

<p>25% of the people are below 1200 and 75% of the people are below 1410. In other word the middle 50% score between 1200 and 1410. The other 50% either score lower than 1200 or higher than 1410.</p>

<p>Yeah. In other words, if you got 1200, or 25th percentile, that means that you did better than 25% of the people who applied to that school.</p>
