this might sound disgusting to some ppl BUT...

I always wanted to be a dentist, and i fell in love with Cornell. I can't seem to find much info about pre-dental emphasis at cornell other than the Cornell Pre-Dental Society.

i plan on applying as a bio major and do pre-dental. if i go to cornell and take all the prerequisites for dental school, then do i count as a pre-dental student? so r there specifics that i should be ware of?

is there other programs at cornell that are related to dental?

thanks! :D

a lot of the requirements for medical school seem to also apply to people wanting to go to dental school. see: <a href=“Career Services | Student & Campus Life | Cornell University”>Career Services | Student & Campus Life | Cornell University;
it’s good to know that that pre-dental society exists, though, since it would give you a chance to talk to upperclassmen who are applying to (or have even been accepted to) dental school after going to Cornell.

also that is a very funny title. :D

omg. this pdf helps so much. so there is such thing as pre-dental at cornell. yay!

lol @ this tltle. haha

so applying as a bio major should help a lot with pre-dental right?

well it would be easy because most requirements for the bio major are also pre-dental requirements. however, you could choose another major and still be pre-dental so long as you take the required courses from that PDF, making sure to cross-check with the requirements of the actual schools you want to apply to. pretty much all majors leave enough credits so that you can fit pre-dental in alongside them.

thanks!
i was actually thinking of urban studies as well. and i did hear about how dental school doesnt require the applicant to be in a specific major, which is awesome!

just like there is no official pre-med major, there’s no official pre-dent major. You can major in anything as long as you take the required sciences & math.

My advice is to pick something that you’re interested in that’s not a killer - I wouldn’t suggest majoring in engineering. When dent schools look at GPAs, they really don’t care if you were a chemistry major or art history.
