this site makes me feel stupid....

Everytime i come on here, I see people say they got a 2000+ on the SAT's... some even get that score without studying on the PSATs!

I got a 1360 on the PSATs .... not feeling too confident for tomorrow =</p>

Don’t worry about it. Do the best you can. Tests mean nothing. Doing well on an SAT does not translate at all to real world success.

You can always take it over, and study some more.
You are more than just a number.

I did well on the SATs (2100+) and so I WISH that the sat meant something, but the truth of the matter is, that once you turn (maybe 19?) your SAT doesn’t matter AT ALL.

Just do your best, and thats all you can do.

Thank You.

I felt like i tried my best.

This site is dominated by super achievers who are in the 97 percentile and above. This is just few of them in the country. Do not get intimidated.

I feel stupid all the time here. That’s why I close my eyes when I see stats and keep on scrollin’…

Yeah, most people here are super achievers. Most of the girls who are in the top 20 in my school only got around an 1800 their first go at it. Out of a normal sized school. So don’t feel bad, thinking that the kids on here are the norm.

This site is definitely not representative of most students, keep that in mind when making comparisons

OP: Don’t be distraught! There are also people here in your situation as well. Last year, I remember someone posting about how their friend went from a 1300 to a 2000, just because they persistently studied and really, really WANTED IT.

You can do it if you want to, just make sure you don’t fool yourself into thinking that you can’t, because you surely can. The wonderful part about the SAT Prep forum is that there is a ton of resources if you look around, and ignore the overachieve stats. Best of luck.

Thanks everyone.

You can do it.

I started with a 1210 (that’s even lower than your score right now) but then by studying I’m now 2000+…so if I can do it, you can too :)

@goodbyehello ; wow, thats a huge improvement. i plan on spending the entire summer studying && taking it again in sept

^there is no Sept. administration I’m pretty sure

I’m sure you did fine. :slight_smile: But I feel the same way, seeing all those stats really brings me down, but once you get into college, the SATs don’t mean a thing.

@ viggyram ; well, i guess oct.

@ parisrosaries ; im glad i’m not the only one. it can be a bit depressing … lol .

When i see people here post their scores, i say to myself, “So what?” because i know im capable of scoring in those ranges too.

Just don’t get discourage.

On this website im on the lower end of the scores but in my score im on the high end. So im stupid on this website, but smart in my school.

“This site is dominated by super achievers who are in the 97 percentile and above. This is just few of them in the country. Do not get intimidated.”

Hell, I’m 98th percentile and I feel intimidated!

Also you have no idea if people are actually posting their real stats, or if they are inflating them to make themselves feel better/look better to others.

@packer22 ; lol , i never thought about that.

@joeybay ; i also feel smarter in school too . :)

The ones with the epic scores are a minority.

The ones who actually have those epic scores are an even smaller minority. Do you think that everyone tells the truth on the Internet?

Some people feel the need to get ego-steroids and lie all over the interwebs. Darn ■■■■■■ ruining our garden of eden.
