congratulations to georgetown university men's basketball coach john thompson III, whose hoyas used their version of the famous "princeton offense" to upset UNC 96-84 in OT to reach the final four. thompson played at princeton from 1984-88, served as assistant coach there from 1995-2000, and led the tigers as head coach from 2000-04, guiding them to three ivy league championships before being hired away by georgetown. the man known by fans as "JTIII" is just one of many members of the princeton basketball family currently leading division I programs. others include bill carmody (northwestern), chris mooney '94 (richmond), joe scott '87 (denver), and barack obama's brother-in-law craig robinson '83 (brown).
