Those who actually switched into impacted biology major?

Bumping three months ahead with an update. Just got into the bio department if anyone cares. I applied to the EBE major without the physics lab done. Got into the bio department, and declared general bio. S</p>

I’m fairly certain that they mainly care about commitment and just want your prereqs done (not that my GPA was bad). This may have not been the case three years ago when they probably cared more about your GPA. In my opinion it is an unfair policy, but hey freaking everyone is a stupid bio major. Good thing is, you probably don’t want to be a junior taking genchem/physics/math/ochem anyways.

So yeah, just get those prereqs done by spring quarter. You don’t even have to do the labs (physics or chem) if you apply to their EBE major. This might change next year because it is a rather large hole in their policy. Many students probably aren’t aware that you can just apply to any major and then declare any major afterwards. 2 series physics lab is plain time consuming/waste for a 2 unit class. Especially for someone who wants to do a schedule with physics/o chem/upperdiv bio/math to get into their major.

Grats on your transfer! I just got bumped into the bio department too! This takes care of a lot of stress for me. =)
