please click the "i reject the admission offer" link or whatever as soon as you are sure you are not attending. this will give lots of people such as me, a better chance during the appeals process. thank you very much.

yea im pretty sure they do calculate it, but i guess to physically have numbers that have turned down the offer holds more significance than an estimation, or so i would hope.

It's not sure or not sure, they definitely calculated it, or else they wouldn't have admitted ten thousand something students for a target class size of 4600. But I know what you mean.

forget it. i was thinking of appealing to berkeley but it'll be a total waste of time...unless you have some shocking new, life-changing information to offer them, it's not going to work.

1.) became ebay power seller,
2.) became president of club with 400 members
3.) special family cirumstances
4.) immigration/ family hardships never addressed in personal statment.

i guess my information is KINDA significant =/

that stuff will increase your chances from 5% (totally random) to maybe about 25%. that's 4 to 1. if you're a poker nerd, that's like drawing to a flush on the turn.

but then again, that figure came out of my "a55". your appeal might increase your chances to as high as 40%. but no amount of people rejecting their admissions offers will increase your chances at all.
