I feel that UC's admit students who did tag and other students with really good GPA's, prereq completions, and IGETC first.

I then think they toss the less qualified applications in a different batch in where at this point they determine where the remaining spots go (which is probably around 30%). So I feel like now the people who haven't been admitted yet are competing with each other for the few remaining transfer spots, which means our chances of getting in are less likely than those who have already been accepted.

I mean none of the UC's have given rejections out yet, which makes me even more sure of this.

Using statistics finder I was able to find avg gpa admitted for transfers as bio/biochem majors (the percentages are the chances I gave myself):

u (School) (My % Chance) (My Status)

3.28-3.22 riverside 70% Accepted

3.3-3.22 santa cruz 65%

3.4-3.36 santa barbara 35%

3.49-3.43 davis 20%

3.5-3.43 san diego 5%

3.56-3.49 irvine 5%

Major: Biochemistry Alt Major: Biology
GPA: 2.94 (upward gpa trend [semester wise] 2.5->3.0->3.45)
EC: 100+ Hrs Volunteering at Hospital
Essay: 7.5/10
IGETC: Will be complete this spring
Prereq:- 1 year of O-Chem, Bio, and Calc completed
- No Physics done (counselor told me not to)
TAG: I applied for it but my GPA was 2.83 before Fall 2011 before so I did not qualify
Units Completed: 66 (after spring: 86)
Repeated Courses and W's: 2 W's (6 units) and 3 repeated courses (13 units)
Schools Applied: UCSD, UCD, UCSB, UCI, UCSC, UCR
Accepted by: UCR (applied as biochem, got in to alt. as Biology major)
Rejected by: None yet....

Now that decisions have come out I believe some people will have a better idea ofchancing, what schools do you guys believe I have a decent chance to be accepted in?

My school of choice is UCSB and then UCSC, my backup is UCR

Also I do realize Bio and Biochem are now competitive majors (it seems like a lot of people went for biochem this year to avoid the bio impact, but now it looks like biochem is impacted)

and yes I worry too much and I should relax
