sweet people are actually reading my journal....

anybody know when our bruin card swipes are activated? and is there a way to keep track of our meals?

meal swipes are activated when the first meal of the year is offered... so, you won't be able to swipe into the dining halls until the saturday or sunday night dinner of move-in weekend (i can never remember which one is the first one!) when you swipe, you can either ask the person who swiped your card how many meals you have left or you can take a peek at the swipe machine which shows the number other than that you just have to remember...

hey so during move-in weekend, if my family decides to tag along, will i be able to use my bruincard to swipe my family to eat at the dining halls?

do you have premiere?

if you don't have premier then you definitely have to pay for your family to eat in the dinning halls... however, i'm not too sure about how the premier meal plan works the first weekend... i think this past year, everyone who wasn't a student HAD to pay and couldn't be swiped in during move-in weekend - anyone know if this is true?

Yeah ckings, that's correct.

Meal plans begin Sunday night. During move-in weekend, students eat free while for others, it's $5 a person. At least that's what it was Friday night. But then, I think that they don't serve all meals of the day... I can't remember either way on that.

hm just wonderint but, when students move in, do most of their parents/family come along to help them move-in or is it just the students themselves?

Usually, the student's parents help by bringing his/her belongings into the dorm room, but the student does the unpacking and installations him/herself.

collegeigrl you should take that first step of independence and move in yourself

My mother refuses to let me fly alone - although I've done this many times since I was 12 - on the grounds that I am emptying the nest and she would like closure.

it seems as though at least one parent comes per student, especially if they are a freshman or because of the driving thing. im out of state so i just flew by myself, but i was one of the few without a "mommy or daddy" haha.

are all triples pretty much the same? jsut wondering because when i go to orientation i want to measure the closet space to see how much i should bring

Nope, it depends on the building.
