Thought B1G was silly? Check UC new look

^^Except that the morons still don’t get it:

As any third-grader knows, if you have to “defend” (explain) it, it ain’t workin’…

And these folks demanded a tax increase for such tomfoolery?

I thought the new (now ex-) logo looked like the the water swirling in a flushing toilet - symbolic of the UC’s plight in the face of all the budget cuts.

Humm, here is a novel idea … stop wasting money for the sole purpose of justifying the existence of the inept.

Does the term “budget crisis” mean anything?

The blue background looks like a shield but the top suggests the outlines of an open book. Groovy. Were they struggling after a “swords into plowshares” metaphor?

To me, the “C” suggests Colorado[/url”>File:Flag of Colorado.svg - Wikipedia]Colorado more than California. Maybe they can sell the rights to UC Boulder? Flip it upside down, reverse the “C”, and you’ve got a handsome ski cap.

With a little work, it could also make a hood ornament for a VW Cabriolet. Or maybe on the side of a mug that lets you add hot coffee and the rest of the “C” appears … then the little horizontal line to complete the “cent” sign.

¢al : Still affordable, but not for long!

Wow, this redesign makes the recent criticism over Stanford’s new wordmark seem very, very petty. Kudos to the UC admins for listening… although the din was probably just too difficult to ignore this time.
