I applied as an accounting major at the College of Staten Island this year, though I’m having second thoughts about the major. I was thinking about changing the major to Finance, or International Business maybe. I was a transfer from KBCC for which I was trying for a Computer Science associates, but decided it wasn’t for me. Before all that, I was a student a Baruch College, but I admit, I basically flunked out of that school. I was wondering if the business school program in CSI is any good, or should I attempt to transfer to another CUNY? Also, I don’t really want to stay in school longer than I have to, I pretty much done that on and off for nearly a decade already.
I went through something really similar (I was also a CS major) last year and it made me realize that the problem wasn’t the schools or the programs - it was me. I also transferred and became a business major because the engineering-level math in CS was just too much for me. You should definitely look into moving away from that major because if you’re not feeling it now, you’re not going to like it later regardless of where you go to study it. (I know this because I transferred to another school to do CS there and I hated it just as much so I decided to come back to CUNY and change my major).
Similarly, if you want to do Business but weren’t into it at Baruch (which I understand because I go to Baruch and I know the core business courses are pretty brutal), I don’t think you’re going to enjoy it or feel like it’s easier elsewhere either. You should really either consider changing majors or think about pushing through - even though it’ll be rough.
