Hey y'all! I'm a HS junior now beginning to intensify the college search process.
Over spring break, I visited lots of schools in NC including Elon, which I absolutely fell in love with. I didn't know much about the school, but received an email from them following my sophomore PSAT scores and decided I wanted to check it out. I read a bunch of threads on CC to find out more info. I was hoping maybe an admitted/current student/ parent could maybe give me a little insight as to if I would have a reasonable chance of getting in.
I got straight As fresh and soph year with one AP and some advanced classes. This years grades look like I will be getting As, a B+ (possibly two, but aiming for one), and a B (trig...) with four APs. Next year I'm also taking 4 APs. I got a 1840 on my SAT, which I plan to retake in September. As for extracurriculars, I'm an NHS member and officer, Girl Scout, council member at my church, actively involved in my youth group, 4 mission trips (which I hope to write my essay on), basketball, and theatre.
Sorry for all this info but was just hoping to get a little perspective and some suggestions! (:

Your sure on the right track. Bump up your SAT a little and don’t spread yourself to thin. Depth and commitment is more important than lots of activities. Make sure you get and stay in touch with your admissions representative because once you have the grades and SAT/ACT score nothing is more important than demonstrated interest.
Best of Luck.
Oh and don’t forget to enjoy your Jr/Sr year.

I agree with ncmentor. demonstrate your interest by staying in touch with your guidance counselor. if elon is your first choice, then applying early decision dramatically improves your changes.

good luck
