what do you think of a 7th grader scoring:
31 english
24 math
29 reading
22 science
27 composite
im a freshman now, so just wondering if you think i would improve a lot next time. i took the act as part of a program with a university.

I will trust in the validity of your scores and say that your composite should increase well above a 30.

youll do fine, your math and science will shoot up for sure. youll get like mid 30s atleast.

yeah, kids like you annoy me. I wish i was that smart. Estimate a 35 or 36

I'm sure you'll do really well.

wow. amazinggg.

Wow. Do you have a tutor?

no, i dont have a tutor. but my friends do call me the human calculator, no joke. thanks for the reponses, now maybe i wont stress AS much.

I'm guessing a 32, good luck.

nah probably a 34

what? you're joking, 42 and no less. heck, he might be tutoring as a freshman to junior students.

Your reading and math should really bump up, and your science will also jump up.

why, i'm flattered. but really, my mom wants me to start tutoring as my first 'real' job. any tips on how to get the word out instead of just going up to random people and saying "want me to tutor you?"
btw, im a girl.

Tell teachers you know that you're interested in tutoring, and ask them to tell other teachers, especially teachers of younger kids. Then when they identify a kid that needs some help, they can hook you up.

If I could estimate (not that these things are by any means an exact science, and can change under any set of given circumstance) I would say a nice range to expect, assuming your cirriculum has increased each year thus far, would be somewhere between 30-33. More or less depending on studying. However, a 27 is a solid score, and if I had any advice, it would be to take it once sophmore year, once junior, and once senior. Sophmore will give you an idea and depending on score you could take it once more, junior another increase could be expected, and senior year simply for the inflated math knowledge. Taking it freshman year seems pre-mature and taking the test too many times looks bad. Common sense will tell us that your score will be better sophmore year than freshman, so why bother having anyother score on your record when you have so much time to work with? See what I'm saying? ...Anyway, much too long of a response. Best of luck to you!

Also, as far as the tutoring goes, I would check to see if your schools offers Mu Alpha Theta (A math tutoring society in which you help your peers before or after school) or a peer-tutoring class. Some schools do, and this would get the word out while offering a guarentee that you will be able to atleast tutor some students. This also allows you to put it on your college transcript and it can be varified by your guidance couselor. Again, best of luck.

If you got a 27 as a 7th grader with no prep and continue to challenge yourself in school, you should get a 34+ by junior year.

I never took ACT before my senior year and the first score I got was 32...

wow.. now a 7th grader is taking the same test :(

it's not that i took just to take it.. i was in a program with duke university that allowed me to take either the sat or act, just to see how it would go. i chose the act, and did much better than i thought i would. now that im a freshman, im glad i took because it let me see what to expect in high school and the test.

sigh i wish i was that smart i think thats wrong grammer

i never looked at at sat test till january of jr year lol and act test till april of jr year
