Thoughts on Senior Year Class Schedule

I’m currently a junior, and am looking ahead at a possible schedule for next year.

This year I’m taking
• AP Bio
• AP US History
• English 11 (AP not offered)
• Chinese 4
• Trig & Precalc
• independent study: student research

Out of 8 periods, 7 are full

My possible schedule for senior year is:
• AP Psychology
• Neuroscience
• Calculus
• independent study: student research
• AP Chinese

• English 12 (AP not offered)

That leaves 2 more spots, and I’m choosing between taking physics (I’ve taken bio and chem) and AP stats. Which class would make the schedule more competitive? I could technically take both, but then I wouldn’t have a free period. I don’t think that would be wise.

I’m interested in studying psychology and neuroscience in college, so AP stats seems more applicable. But physics is also important. I’m also not a math person, so taking 2 advanced math classes would be tough, though I’m willing to do the work.

Any and all thoughts are appreciated. Thank you!

Definitely take Physics over Stats. Colleges want to see Bio, Physics and Chem and ideally an AP version of one o those.

I agree, take physics. It gives you a more competitive edge, since as mentioned above, colleges like seeing bio, physics, and chem
