Thanks for sharing the stats. Wondering what makes and breaks a BSMD application!!
With your kid’s status, it is surprising he didn’t get through. I hope he has more BS/MD applications that you are waiting for results. Nevertheless, he will be successful wherever he goes! All the best.
I don’t think so because they didn’t specify at any point that we will be receiving an interview. I think we’re all on the same boat right now regardless of whether or not we got an email.
I received an email from Drexel saying that I got in for the UG major I applied for. On the application portal, it says that my BS/MD application is currently under review. Is it the same for all of you too, or are there any further updates for anyone?
Pitt’s pre-med track is one of the most underrated undergrad programs.
You are literally surrounded by UPMC hospitals, and for smart kids getting research, shadowing, and other opportunities is not difficult. Also, only about 350-450 students apply to medical schools post the weed-out classes. Pitt Medical School takes nearly 20-25% of its intake from its own undergrad students (including gap year students).
Most Ivies actually become graveyards for many pre-med students as they cannot cope up with getting the requisite GPAs, and many students cannot fathom finding themselves in the bottom quartile in some subjects.
Be aware of what you are getting in before deciding. Do your due diligence.
On Monday at 12:14 pm I got the Upstate Supplemental App.
It says this " To be considered for this program, you must complete a supplemental application **within the next 5 days (from the timestamp in this email),"
