"Yes, we welcome application from out-of-state students. This program is open to all U.S. citizens and permanent residents regardless of their state (or country) of residence at the time of application. As far as we are aware, there is no preference given to in-state students by the NJMS Admissions Committee… "

I totally agree that FAFSA is a very painful process and you have to provide parents financial information. But, I should say that it is a painful process for the first year- and then a lot of it gets populated the following year. Some decisions are made on FAFSA application and so if there is an option kids should opt for FAFSA applications especially in case of emergency when the school will come back and say they cant send you a federal govt relief check because you didn’t fill out your FAFSA.

Thank you very much for watching the video and commenting. The channel just re-opened for BS/MD advise but a lot of kids have already found all the 3 videos very helpful and it is getting published in some TX schools. So, being an alum here I thought of sharing it on this platform. Sadly, it got posted multiple times due to technical issues and I could not delete them :(. Hope it isn’t too annoying.
Yes, it is good to be back and see you are still on top of helping these kids. Please continue the awesome work. I know you have a wealth of knowledge. I am now getting my feet back here as I have some time to dedicate and will try to be active as long as I can.
Glad to hear that your daughter is doing well too. Best to all on here.
Hi, I am new to this forum. My DD will be applying this fall for BSMD programs. Just curious anyone gotten in to U Pitt for BSMD program. I read in one thread you have to commit for Undergrad before they confirm for Medical? Then some one wrote it is a good thing. I did not understand how it is a good thing? Can some senior member care to elaborate. Greatly appreciate it.
This year due to Covid some unusual thing happened only with UPitt BS/MD.
In the past years it is similar to any other program. You will get to know if you are admitted to UG and BS/MD program before May 1st and you decide. This cycle for some technical reason they informed they can not conduct video interview and hence the process changed for the cycle 2019-20.
For your application cycle (2020-21), it may be similar to the past cycles. You can call and get it confirmed.
Hi everyone! Since AP scores just came out…(rough), I wanted to ask if anyone had any input on whether or not to send scores to colleges and BS/MD programs. Like particularly, I got 4s in Chemistry (last year) and Physics 1 (this year) but wanted to know if a score of 4 will hurt my chances for BS/MD programs especially since the 4s are for science courses (i did selfstudy both courses though). Anyone have any input? Thanks!
Hi Experts, I have a similar question about AP scores. Most of the BS/MD programs (and regular undergrad for that matter) that we have been looking into, do not ask for AP scores (like they ask for SAT/ACT/SAT Subject scores). In that case, should we send them AP scores anyways (if they are 4s and 5s - I think 4s are not bad). Will they even look at it while making decisions?
@avoshmados and @rk1235rk
You are not expected to report AP scores for BS/MD apps, although programs like BU/SMED sometimes like to see good AP scores in their AP language exams. At times some of the APs exams are taken after the student is accepted. In essence AP scores may not have too much of a bearing on the committee’s decision except if you get college board honors which will make your application stand out.
So, if you have all 5’s you can send them in or if you have 4’s and 5’s you can report the College board honors on your resume (National AP scholar, AP scholar with distinction etc).
BS/MD programs explicitly don’t ask for AP scores because they are supposed to be mentioned as part of the common app anyways. (Don’t spend money on sending them)
The more competitive ones among these programs tend to use it as a standardized comparison among their many applicants from different high schools across the nation of varying rigors. (NU HPME even asks your scores before determining whether to send the invite link to their application). The tests and scores along with grades in BCPM subjects are likely to be looked at in particular. Yes, 4s may not hurt but may not help either. If for example one had a 5 in AP Biology, which only a small percentage of test takers get, it can be a bonus point in your credentials. It can also help compensate for your high school grade in a subject if you go to a highly competitive high school or taught by a tough teacher.
Hello Experts and Senior members,
Please let me know if anyone has list showing the number of seats available roughly in each BSMD college in most popular ones-High, Mid, Low tier colleges? It will help us decide applying for colleges.
