As @Vicky2019 suggested difficult to opine without knowing the financial details. But assuming they are in similar ball park, the clear winner will be Brooklyn BA/MD.
It is guaranteed (provided you meet the gpa and any modest mcat req it may have, if any). Brooklyn College has a decent name for undergrad and moreover you will have the company of the cohort of this BA/MD group and other high achievers.
Personally I am against 6 year programs, so wouldn’t recommend UMKC (unless one is instate and has a great price break)
SLU is interview only guaranteed even if meeting the gpa requirement is not a big concern.
AAMC emailed back that they do not provide that info. We have to contact each UG schools and they can provide that. Just wanted to know like it says 132 applied for Princeton and want to how many got into med school and same for MIT like 73 people applied so wanted to know that since they have this data, but they do not publish that. Thank you.
Precisely, because it is a useless matrix, 1000+ UGs and 150+ SOMs, you are talking potential 1000x150 matrix. It is safe to assume, higher number applicants of students from a UG school, better chances are to be accepted at SOM.
Quick question for those who might have an opinion on this:
For students in a 7-year program, do you see people applying out to ivy and other good pre-med schools as transfer students? Would this be at all worth it, and does the act of applying to an undergrad college immediately void your seat at the med school in the program?
@vves20
UMKSC - 6 year program, too stressful.
SLU - Do you have any scholarship for UG (full or half).
Brooklyn BA/MD - It is in Brooklyn, NY. Consider this OOS for tuition, IMO
You should contact each school of interest which may provide some data. If AAMC can not provide it, it may not be available to public. You can do a google search for each school.
First, if you are not serious about medical profession, why bother to join a 7 year program ?
It is you, who will determine whether you get into a medical school via regular route, not the school you attend. Any four year institution will work for taking pre-requisites courses.
Read the contract for BSMD program which was sent to you by the school.
Because AAMC represents medical schools, not UGs. And AAMC is not in business of favoring any particular UGs or SOMs, so either they can provide all or none.
Completely true, I am serious about medicine, I only ask in case it would be a possible path to perhaps a better-med school, though you are right, a better undergrad doesn’t necessarily lead to a better-med school.
