Three or four years of one foreign language?

My D (currently a junior) would like to apply to Harvard. She wants to drop Spanish, which she has taken for three years, in her senior year so that she can fit in two art courses while continuing in Mandarin (which she started this year). I see that Harvard lists four years of a single foreign language as "ideal." Will it hurt her significantly to not take Spanish as a senior?

普通话 is not a joke. Stick with espa
