Three weeks for letters of rec - too short?

I'm thinking about applying for Questbridge, which is due on September 30th. My school starts on September 9th, which would only give my teachers three weeks to write letters of rec. I'm not too sure whether Questbridge will help me significantly.

Should I skip Questbridge and give my teachers more time? Thanks for any advice.

Ummm… why don’t you ask teachers now? Isn’t there some way to contact them before the beginning of school?

QBridge opens up many doors. I recommend it.

I don’t think I would be able to contact them before the beginning of school.

If I can’t, would you still recommend Questbridge? I’m interested in how QB opens many doors. I’m very low income (10k), but I’m not URM or first generation. I haven’t faced difficult financial hardship. The ones I can list off the top of my head are no heating, almost no insurance, and general belt tightening. I don’t know whether these count.

Your ethnic status is irrelevant. If you’re a QB finalist, that means your stats are highly coveted. QB will get you noticed even beyond what you’re currently thinking. Also, the target schools will know that FA is in question so they may be extra generous in order to court you. Good luck.
