Thurgood Marshall

future roomies! :D who here got accepted to Marshall? for what major? why did you guys choose Marshall? How are the dorms there?

Marshall dorms are pretty good. The main dining hall in Marshall is called Oceanview Terrace and is connected by a bridge to most of the residence halls (the other ones aren’t that far away) so it really caters to bringing food home from the dining hall to eat. Goody’s isn’t far either (a Chipotle-esque restaurant on the top floor with sandwiches and wraps and burritoes and a market on the bottom floor; usually open until 1 AM so most people go there because the dining hall closes so early, at 8).

Marshall Residence Halls consist of six four story buildings and three two story buildings. Each floor has one or two suites, depending on the building–most have at least two suites facing each other (mine happens to be one suite per floor…it’s a really small building in the corner). Each suite has two triple or double rooms and four single rooms. You share a common bathroom with the other girls/guys living in your suite; usually in each bathroom there’s two stalls and two showers and three sinks. Common rooms come with basic furniture and a bulletin boards. Each room is furnished with two closets and a chest of drawers and two desks (if you’re in a triple the set up is more crammed, but you can see for yourself more details online; just google Marshall residential life ucsd and look for ‘Virtual Tour’).

Marshall Residence Halls aren’t as good at ERC’s but not as bad as Revelle’s. Unfortunately we don’t get kitchens, but the dining hall is in such close proximity and Goody’s is a minute walk away.

Any more questions feel free to ask. I’m a freshman at Marshall right now :)
