Hey CC, I'm a rising Junior with a terrible procrastination problem, and a lack of know-how on time management in general.
This year, I've signed myself up for:
-Honors Physics
-Honors Pre-Calculus
-AP Art History
-AMSTUD (American Studies, basically a combination of AP Lang and APUSH)
-AP Computer Science
-AP Psychology/AP Comparative Government (one semester courses)

I've heard that Physics is hll at my school, but I haven't heard anything else. (My district splits 9/10 and 11/12 into different schools, so I lack access to upperclassmen).
I know I just need to study and do the work, but I'm just really lazy and lack motivation. Am I crazy for taking these classes, knowing full well of my procrastination habits? Last year, despite my procrastination, I managed these grades:
Honors Alg 2- 89
Honors Chem-93
Honors Spanish 3- 92
Honors English- 97
WHAP- 97
Health- 97
AP Euro- 98
**These are second semester, first semester was 1 or 2 points less than those grades
My studying was extremely erratic, lazy minute, and pretty ineffective. I know I can't do that Junior year, or else my rank will go down the toilet (it's pretty sad right now, I blew off my freshmen year :/). My rank was about 110/830 (before second semester, I don't know what it is currently). My junior high feeds into senior high with another even more competitive junior high, and I'm freaking out! Help please! (on time management, difficulty of my courses in your experience, anything really). Thanks!

I see exactly like you! What seemed to have worked for me was going to the library and surrounding myself with people that were likewise studying. After finished all the work designated for that day, I went home and treated myself to a movie or sleep lol. I don’t know why, but this motivated me immensely. I should add that you should absolutely stay away from YouTube. I cabin stress this enough. One video on a concept from your studies will lead to “How to stop procrastinating and study better”… You don’t want to watch those kinds of videos because they are nothing but a waste of time.

Anywho, as for knowing what to do reach day, I suggest you get a planner. There is no negotiation here, it is a necessity! Plan your week every Sunday, assuming you have a syllabus for each class. If not, just have a nice set of work to finish off by last period.

I know how frustrating it can be to watch the seconds fly by as you accomplish absolutely nothing. It was quite depressing for me, I seriously thought I was cursed or something lol. Hopefully, if you follow this advice you’ll soon join the productive squad! :)

Sorry for the misplaced words in some sentences. They should not be there! Darn autocorrect is out to get me.

I can’t do planners…I lose them all. I lost 3 planners in a month -_-

I highly recommend this video:

Sure, it’s cheesy, but it got me through finals this year, so it’s definitely effective. I hope this helped!
