is anybody else having trouble w/ time managment? seems like in HS, i always had time to do my work, but here, the day just goes by so quickly and before i know it it's late at night and im starting my work.. the worst is on the weekends b/c by the time im ready to start working, i just end up going out...anybody else having this problem??

eh, it's one of those issues that you have to get used to. Are you a freshmen? Typically, it's why the "first semester gpa is the lowest." Just gotta find the ideal balance of academics and social stuff! Stay focused on school first and foremost, but have a good time! You'll get your bearings soon enough.

im having the same issue right now actually. i really should be asleep now, but obviously im not. on the weekdays, i get about 5hrs of sleep on a good night, because my work usually doesn get done until late. it seems like there arent enough hours in the day for me to do all that needs to be done, but im trying to fix my situation....its gonna be hard, but im still trying..

You need to discover the library! It's really hard to study with interesting roomates and friendly people dropping in all the time.
Carve out a few hours every day to spend in the library, and you can play in the evenings without guilt.

library plus a coffee!

yea thats a good point about the library...whenever i go there, i got a lot of work done...studying in the room is hard..and yes i am a freshman and in the process of adjusting...

It's kind of a trial and error process to figure out how to manage your time in college. By sophomore year (or even next semester) you will have figured out what works for you. Time management is a pretty universal challenge for freshmen. That's why so many colleges have some sort of pass-fail system for a semester or two.

Not really sure how to describe my excellent time management skills. It kind of correlates with motivation really. If you're motivated to do well then you'll spend more time trying to do well. I tend to do all of the homework in one big chunk of time in the day. I tend to be chatting online with friends, browsing sites, and doing homework for a couple of hours (OK quite a few hours) in the day. I just tend to like getting stuff done so that it can be crossed off the list of stuff to worry about forever. Like I got so much done last week that now I can take it easy for the most part this week.
