Time to get to know each other, CCers.

Well, I believe I’m a pseudo-nerd in some way too. I can’t bear if i get grades lower than my expectation, and as an asian, you all understand what I mean by “expectation”. Sometimes I even can’t stand anyone in my class being better than me. But I am not that good and I usually pretend like I don’t really care that much. I came to study in US last summer as a freshman, class of 2015, and before I came here, I was never considered as a hardworking student in my school. But here…hmmm…maybe I just became the typical asian type?
I like the “dark room” image :D,but thats not my life. I am kinda socially awkward. I get along with my friends, but I’m always to shy to go out and get to know new people. I can be really crazy in front of my best friends:D
I love watching TV, supernatural used to be my favorite(oh i just love Sam), but i only like the first four seasons, after that its just getting too much off the road. Doctor Who and The Big bang theory are some of my favorite too. But as a girl, I don’t really like Gossip girl and those kind of stuff, I think thats what makes me look nerdy?:frowning:
Sport is something I am never good at, I am doing sailing in my school now. And I AM COMPLETElY A NOVICE… I always have to worry if Im gonna fall into the water during the practice. But its just so much fun when you are out on the water sailing.
Hmmm, lets see, I am never a big fan of literature. Science and math are my lovers.
And, i am short(5’2) and I don’t think I will grow any more(sad face). Since I have really small hands and feet too( size 5 ).

freshmen ARE indeed very cute lol x)

Whoo so many Asians! Is that about the standard here on CC Does the word ‘tigermom’ sounds familiar to anyone?? Or is it all free will?

@UKgirl Thank u so much, I’ll surely go check it out but meantimes I dont want to abandon you guys.

Btw some more about myself, a 16-year old she(I feel older all the time) I play tennis and I love to bike (haha that wasnt true: biking is almost mandatory overhere) Im very down to earth and I love watching movies

Whats more uuuh Yeah well I love debating (I found out about one year ago) but my school didnt offer it so I started it myself as some sort of EC (well actually EC is not the right word as we dont really have that overhere) Anyone ever heard about EYP(european youth parliament, sounds kinda clich

Tiger mom is very much familiar, rest assured. But I’m a fan of Amy Chua so it’s all good aha! My parents are a bit more lenient. Just a bit.

but mira your autocorrect is amazing holy ****
i wish mine did that qq

D’aw. I love how other people posted their heights (that are smaller than mine. :’]). We could be like AT&T. Raisin dat bar ~~

& stressedouttt; what country? I’m south(east) asian too eheh

LOL SOKSABAI IS SO KEWT ~
time flies by so fast dude, like literally i can barely remember senior year! i just bought a suitcase, it’s so surreal * ^ * ;; where has the time gone!

I was so ignorant and naive as a freshman DX i wish I had known about CC when I was 13 years old… LOL.

Yo. Ima sophomore. I live in America (of the United States variety). I’m your typical smart-kid slacker who gets A’s and B’s but teachers want to kill me because they could easily be all A’s. But yeah, I don’t really care about grades and stuff; 'tis only school, right? Let’s see, what I do for fun… fall=marching band, spring=concert band, and all-year round is out of school orchestras. Yup, trombone is all I do pretty much. I also do triathlons occasionally, but I’m starting to do them more regularly. I plan to be a professional trombone player when I grow up. Actually, I’m making my professional debut this weekend (the start of good things hopefully). I spend my free time listening to the fantastic song stylings of Elton John and David Bowie.

I bid thee CC.

IT IS I, THE HAIRY LEMON!

I am supreme in my fruitful powers of sour taste! Not to mention my great, sour, unshaven mane!

BOW TO MY SOUR POWERS! ALL SHALL LOVE ME, AND DESPAIR. . .

We have UKYP here, but haven’t heard of EYP, will have to look into it. And I love debating too  won my first ever debate a few weeks ago, and came 9th out of 36 in the competition overall, just good enough to break to the international round  so excited!!!

I love lemons…
especially in cake or fruit tea

CCers are real people? What?

You cannot eat me–I am inedible!

You can shave my sour hairiness, however. . .

I’m in the Class of 2014. I’m African-American (am I the only one here so far?), but I look very Native American (btw, people debate my race at school). I’m a guy (hard to distinguish over the Internet, right?) I’m very introverted, but whimsical and outrageous. I usually end up getting on teachers’ good sides, then I tick them off when I am about to get out of their class (as a form of revenge for working me LOL). I hate making anything less than an A. Even though I know I could do an Ivy League school, I don’t want to because of location, cost, and my occasional laziness. I want to stay on the East Coast, most likely the Carolinas or VA, for the rest of my life. I love the East Coast and would never think about leaving.

I’m amazing at math and science. Teachers are always asking me to help them during the tutorial period that we have at my school. I can factor mentally (which I think everyone on CC can probably do). Also, I’m bribed on a daily basis to do people’s homework and projects, but I have my own work to do. (I was bribed to do a senior project for $350, which I really thought about doing) I hate English and history, which I feel are not needed at all.

I am starting to get hooked on playing street ball with my neighbor. My record with him is 0-7 (he’s from MD and is almost a foot taller than me), but I’m getting better as time goes on. I used to play baseball and was begged to play on my school’s JV team. I think I should’ve played (I play outfield) because the outfield looked rubbish at the game I went to. I wanted to try tennis this year, but couldn’t make it to tryouts.

Also, I’m short (5’4 1/2") and that most likely won’t change anytime soon. It is said that I look older than I really am. This girl at school thought I was a senior because of my mustache and sideburns and I was taking senior-level classes. I showed her my schedule and she was surprised when it said 10th grade at the top.

I know it seems like that I am rambling, but that is me in a nutshell!

Second African American here! I’m a numismatist that likes to write social commentaries and study obscure languages. I have braids that constantly get called dreadlocks (I’m a URM in my own little town). I love Nanowrimo and cheesecake. Odd, yes, but I am a peculiar person.

When it comes to athletics, I like to run and I go to a dance school.

Academically, I am best at math, but my english teacher wants me to major in english, since he thinks I have the heart of a poet. Anyway, I have been working with the topic of Asian American rights and the prejudices that Asians have faced over the years and today. My first subtopic includes desexualization of Asian males in early 20th century media and as of now my person of study is Sessue Hayakawa.

I would like to go to MIT (yeah right) but I also like Georgetown and Brown, in addition to other schools. I just want to be an ibanker or maybe an economist on Asia Squawk Box (I love it).

Interesting Fact: I began to love Cornell when they gave me a BB and Ax body wash…

Class of '15 here. I’m a caucasian guy who lives in Alaska. I’m a hockey fan who owns season tickets to the local ECHL in town. It’s kind of sad because all of my favorite sports teams suck except for the ECHL team. Here are my sports alligences…

ECHL - Alaska Aces
NHL - Toronto Maple Leafs
NFL - San Diego Chargers
NBA - Memphis Grizzlies
MLB - Cincinnati Reds
NCAABB/NCAAFB - UNLV Rebels
NCAA Hockey - UAA Seawolves

Yeah… those teams are pathetic, and I hear tons of crap about how bad they are every year. Academically, I think I’m best at either math (despite my love/hate relationship with it) or social studies. I’m not very sciency (there are some interesting sciences though, such as astronomy or environmental science), and I’m not a fan of English. I also speak novice French as well.

Right now, my short term goal is to learn how to ice skate. Literally everyone I know plays hockey, and I feel kind of pathetic because I can’t skate.

@soksabai Bangladesh  what about you?

@Aquiana another nanowrimo’er! I’ve missed it SO much since it’s been over.

@stressedouttt Last november was actually my first year and I just made the 50k mark. Are you doing Script Frenzy?

Sent from my WX445 using CC

ahhh we now have people of all races!! C8 welcome to the thread guys (:

and yeah there are a lot of asians on CC, but that’s probably because our parents are either the equivalent of amy chua or a little more lenient. but still strict. ever heard of the asian F? IT’S A B. 8(

btw does anyone do MUN?

OH HAIRY LEMON
have you met my scissors
they are good for cutting long unshaven manes

AKACES I APPROVE OF THE MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES JS <3
(timberwolves are my favorite though haha)
and it’s ok. it’s like me supporting my soccer teams that no one cares about in the states.

I wish I could do mun. It sounds very interesting. But, anyways I just wanted to post some random facts. My shoe size is 9, and my favorite color is blue. I can’t wait for MESA day on Saturday. I’m so glad I made it last the preliminaries. next year, I am going to join the academic decathlon. I signed up for it this year, but I never attended the meetings.

Haha this is a pretty interesting thread. Alright then, this is me:

I’m a freshman this year. I’m 5’7" but I think I’m gonna grow another inch, so yeah. Hm… what else? I like math and science and history and art and everything else… OTHER THAN ENGLISH. I love reading and all, but essays drive me insane. I currently have three benchmarks to study for (they’re all tomorrow) but I can’t focus because I am so hungry but I can’t go downstairs because I’m mad at my parents. I like food. A lot. And I’m wearing a tie-dye shirt right now cause we made them at my best friend’s b-day party last weekend and we all wore them to school today cause it was neon day. I think you could call me a nerd but at my school being a nerd is normal. Most of our school is Asian (Indians included. Idk why Indians aren’t considered Asian when people at my school are talking about Asian people.) Which reminds me, I forgot to tell you guys I’m Indian. Um… I play tennis and do swimming and dance (hip-hop!). I had an extremely hard Spanish benchmark today but I think I got an A- on it because I looked back at the conjugations afterwards and it seemed like I did okay on it. I love dressing up in costumes because it’s so fun. It might have to do with the fact that I’m born on Halloween. Please do not make any jokes about that. My dream college would probably be one of the following: USC, UCLA, NYU, or Tufts University. Okay, I think that’s it for now. :D

I am Asian. Bye.
