Tips for my 11th grade year?

Anybody have any tips for a junior this year? Here are the courses I’m taking:

CP Pre-Cal
Astronomy
Chemistry Honors
AP Biology
AP US History
AP Psychology
AP Language and Composition

Thanks for the advice. (:

Hello,

First off, are you just finishing junior year, or are you going into 11th grade for the next semester? I’ll interpret it as the latter.

My tip is to enjoy your entrance into the latter half of your high school career, and really try to come into your own as a person and student. People love to groan about how this is the hardest year, but it’s really all about time managment and staying on top of priorities.

If you are in fact going into senior year, try to get a headstart on your college applications, and really try to have some ideas about where you want to attend. The time spent getting it done ahead of time will prove valuable.

If you are going to be a junior, you may want to start browsing some colleges and universities, but no need to settle on something concrete yet.

Your courses look very interesting and engaging. Good luck!

Although I took standard classes this year (junior), I think I can still offer some good advice.

Most students become more mature, and high school will have less daily “drama”. This was the case in my two high schools, anyway.

It’s true many people say this is the hardest year, although I felt sophomore year was the most challenging. (Chemistry was terrible!) Work hard, and do all of your homework. Study often, and don’t be afraid to ask for extra help. Although I’m sure this is obvious to an AP student.

Start looking at colleges, and start narrowing down your list. You don’t need to make any definite decisions, though, I’m still changing my mind all the time!

Don’t get involved with peer pressure! In my school, this became very common in junior year. Even the “smart” kids were partying! I don’t picture many people on college confidential being “partiers”, though, haha.

Good luck!
