Tips for succeeding in high school classes

“Either way, yes, thanks for acknowledging the obvious point. I applaud you.”

If you think talking to someone like this is going to get you friends in high school, you’re sadly mistaken. You might not think that there’s anything wrong with the above quote, and for that, I’m sorry that you have no sociability. Hopefully you’ll grow out of it.

(invoyable- wow, we’re actually seriously discussing a topic here? no mocking? haha)

but for math/science classes, enthusiasm and a blatant will to show the teacher that you would like to improve puts an impression on the teacher that he/she should give the student a “benefit of the doubt”

grading may not be subjective to those who do well in math/science courses, but it is subjective to those who aren’t geniuses in the classes, yet show enthusiasm, a desire to learn and improve grades, and actually manifest that in their work for the class. that’s because then the teacher will, in some cases, improve a student’s grade based on those factors.

Um..it’s called sarcasm. And most highschoolers possess a great deal of it. Sorry to burst your bubble.

I’ll send you a PM. No need to post again in this thread on such matters.

Leaving with one comment: That’s the funniest thing I’ve ever read in a while.

Agreed, one of my math teachers offered extra credit to those who attended extra help sessions but still struggled on the tests. I wish all teachers would do this.

At my school, each teacher decides the percentage tests/homework/participation/midterms will count for. Usually its a pretty even distribution.

If you want to get an A, look carefully at your teacher’s grading policies. That will help you plan out what to work on for the class. It’ll make it easier also to check on your grade frequently while being able to know what to work on to get an A.

If you want to learn, pay attention and take notes. Don’t sleep in class.

Study all day; study all night.
