Yea so I just took my first ACT practice test and got 26-30-29-32 eng-math-reading-science and got a composite of 29.25 (29). When I took the test I went over the time limit by a few minutes on all the sections. This is my first time trying the ACT but I do have a tendency to take my time. Any tips? I'm planning on taking the ACT september and October and have 5 more practice tests.

-Don’t stop, ever.

-Wear a watch.

-Skip problems if you’re stumped.

-I’m pretty sure everyone does this, but I was late to catch on. I like to do a whole page of problems and circle the answer in the book. Then at the end of the page, I fill in all the bubbles on the answer sheet at once. I don’t know if it’s a psychological thing but I finished with much more time to spare compared to bubbling after each question. A friend of mine likes to do the WHOLE TEST in the booklet, and then transfer all the answers at the end. Whatever works for you.

-Keep doing practice tests. The more familiar you are with the format, the faster you’ll perform.
