Tips on self-studying

Hello,

I am looking for some tips on self studying.

I want to self-teach myself college accounting, finance, management and organization, and maybe intermediate economics. I have the books for it, but I know that it wont be easy for me to discipline myself to study like I do for school.

So for those of you that self-teach entire subjects, please share your studying methods with me.

you just gotta have the drive to study....maybe do it with a friend or sum1 you know who studies it as well i find it easier to study with others

I self-studied Pre-Calculus over this past summer. My insane love of math is probably what kept me going. I'd say you've gotta have the passion and interest, deeply.

i have the passion but i want the stuff to stick to my brain instead of like when i read for fun, things just...float out of my head after i read it lol

well hmmm i suggest you read or do wutever every day even if its only like 30 min and then at the end of the week go over it and summarize it....since im not too familiar with wut ur trying to study though im not sure if it'll work wut do ya think?

sounds good

im just a bit concerned about how to test myself and measure my performance...oh well, ill figure that out while studyin it i guess

have ur mom do it lol.....it may sound stupid but hey if shes willing to make up like a fake test or sumthing from reading ur book that may help u memorize it

hmm maybe i can get a friend to study wit me and we can quiz each other...

Set aside a specific time each week to do it, not just "whenever I don't have anything else" :)

i have to self study french for ib...i find it really hard, i always put it off and end up not doing anything by the week...i think the prob is that "mre imp. things always turn up" and i end up doing those instead because they matter for right now and ill get graded on them.. or just stuff like id better study for the sat instead...but now a teacher at school is monitoring my progress and giving me a grade based on what he thinks my effort level and all tht is like... as itll show up on my transcript iv been working a llooott more... maybe u could do the same...other wise i think self studying is sooo hard specially if ur a master at digression (thnx to messenger), slacking off, day dreaming and what not like myself :S
