So I'm going to be a Sophmore in high school this year, and I started studying some SAT vocabulary this summer. My brother gave me two booklets for high frequency words, so I've been studying that. I'm a quick learner so I learned like 200 words in three weeks, but when I went on vacation for two weeks I forgot them all! That really frustrated me! I want to know every word by heart so that I don't even have to think about what the words mean. I probably sound really stupid right now, but I wanna get a good score on the SAT. I'm not the smartest girl, yet I'm definitely not stupid either. Any advice?

Study Greek/Latin roots. Those definitely help…

Repetition reinforces memory, so it is important to go over the words once in awhile. Don’t expect your brain to retain all that information without giving yourself a chance to review.
Try making mnemonics. A lot of people, including myself, believe that they help with memory retention.
