Hello, I new member here:-)
I just wondering if I had any chances to Tisch. My GPA and SAT is pretty sad
I hope I'm least a worth a shot

SAT - Math:690 CR:580
GPA - 3.5~3.6 (All A's at Freshmen Year...but getting bad grades recently...)
Class course: moderate (some AP classes and honors)
Essay: moderate
Recs:Good
EC:Fairly good(President of art club and AAC)

It is in one of the choices so I'm allowed to submit it.

A creative submission consisting of ONE of the following:

• Film or video/live action or animation on DVD or VHS cassette/NTSC format only no more than 10 minutes. (Please note: CD-R's are not acceptable.)
• Storyboards and/or a portfolio of drawings or paintings (e.g., figure drawings)-no more than ten, 8" x 11" in size.
• Photographs (no more than ten, 8" x 10" in size) of fine arts photography or stills of paintings, drawings, or sculpture. Slides are not acceptable.
• No more than six pages of dramatic or creative writing (8" x 11" pages, typed) consisting of a short story, dramatic scene or portrait of an individual or place.

Really? Then do you think it would be more of an advantage if I made a film from scrap rather then a portfolio that I already have finished? Oops.....

no no dont do that. But if you could, I'd write a script. but if you're not that experienced with it then dont. BTW I love your portfolio. Seen better but definitely pieces of work I admire.

BIGTWIX, Called NYU yesterday and they said it didn't matter on what creative submission I submited and doesn't give different weight. Well it is Film and Television (film, television, video, radio, and animation all added)
Thanks for the advice though:-) You made me call

puzzlebox-
Make sure you research outside of CC. You can get put to gsp for tisch. But instead of 2 years, it's only 1 year. In fact, I'm a GSP to tisch Film & TV transfer( there's about 30 of us) and it's a good option. You finish most of your liberal arts credits by the time you transfer so once you transfer, you can just focus on film.

Personally, I think you might be GSP'd because your stats are scarily similar to mine and our portfolios are similar. The only thing I would say differs is that I probably had more leadership in my ECs but your GPA is a bit higher (I had a 3.4-3.5).

But don't see it as a bad thing. I think it's better b/c you get to skip the (from what I 've heard) somewhat painful freshman film courses.

tisch applicants can most certainly be GSPed
theres two girls on my floor who are TV/Film Majors who are GSPed and they do 1 year of GSP and mandatory courses in the summer
