While there was a film version, the one I was talking about was the Broadway show itself that was filmed. It absolutely was a recording of the Broadway performance. Some of the filming was done in August 2008 but most of it was the final performance on September 7, 2008 when the show closed at the Nederlander.

Broadway95: D is taking beginning ballet this semester but professor challenges her snd she loves the class. She does miss taking multiple dance classes as their schedules do not sllow them Steinhardt students can apply for cross school minors in sophomore year so D is hoping to minor in dance at Tisch If this doesnt happen D will supplement at local dance studio. Theae studios are very reasonable and offer all levels of dance and type. Many professional dancers take there.

@CLA122 I think another thing to consider between the two programs is the emphasis of their vocal repertoire. Steinhardt (at least when D was there–she is a 2012 grad) emphasizes more traditional MT–pre-1990’s. And that is what they will primarily study in voice lessons–with some classical thrown in. Their senior recital will reflect this training. Shows that Steinhardts put on will sometimes vary, which at times gives an edge to the student who does have the ability to belt. But true belting is not taught–more of a mixed voice and even that is discouraged before senior year. That is certainly something to ask about when considering the two programs.

ED2 for Tisch drama admits is a fairly recent phenomenon @alwaysamom. I’m quite sure it didn’t exist 3 years ago either. Fingers crossed for you CLA122.
