Wesleyan is a phenomenal school. Don't listen to Jon Stewart. He likes to joke. :-).

According to princetonreview.com, the students say, "The high degree of selectivity means 'Wesleyan students have got their [you-know-what] together like no one you ever meet. They're those ideal college kids who are every bit as intellectual and driven as any Ivy Leaguer, every bit as snobby about it as a Reed student, every bit as hip as a RISD student, and yet as crunchy and earthy as a UCBerkeley student. It's a campus of total badass intellectuals.'" Furthermore, many students apply to these schools as they apply to Wesleyan: "Harvard College, Dartmouth College, Columbia University -Columbia College & Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science, Stanford University, Cornell University, Yale University, Brown University, University of Pennsylvania, Swarthmore College, Amherst College." I really feel that it's unnecessary to emphasize how strong of a school Wesleyan is, but some still seem to have doubt about its rigor.

Strangely enough, some applicants even choose Wesleyan over the Ivies for its intimate atmosphere and high amount of diversity, according to College Guides.

There you go. Believe it-- Wesleyan is a top-tier school.
