Hey guys,

I am going to NU in the fall and am incredibly excited. My entire senior year was focused around waiting to hear from colleges, and my junior was focused around figuring out which ones to apply to.

I understand how eager you guys are to see if you can get in or not, but the honest answer is there is no way of knowing until you get your decision. I did not think I would get into Medill AT ALL based on my grades (93 UW/1370/2060 SAT, 30 ACT, 4 AP classes) but ended up getting accepted. While I did have an awesome interview and made it clear in my supplement why NU was my #1, there were kids with FAR better grades than me (kids who were accepted to Ivies) who were waitlisted or denied.

The truth is, this process (for every school) is so unpredictable. I applied to 11 schools, and got accepted to all but Columbia and U Florida. Yes, I was accepted to NU, USC, Syracuse, and Miami, but not Florida.

That said, the harder you work now and in senior year, the better chance you get. But please, just because it seems likely/unlikely you will get in, don't bet that you will/won't. If you are afraid of applying because you don't think you will get in (like me), take the chance and you get a nice email from NU the fourth Thursday of March :)

Good luck everyone!
