Fear not ye who have dared the gates of Stanford! It's not where you go or who you are that counts; it's what you DO in life. Wherever you go to school, if you succeed in your goals there...the skies are your limit. In fact, you might even be so successful that Stanford will send you another letter...this time begging you to come there. ;)

Keep thinking and dreaming of that day...in the mean time, work hard at the school you will call home for the next 4 years.

Wolffy! I'm sorry you struck out too. The only place I got into was Oberlin. The only place I haven't heard from yet is Wesleyan... maybe today. Don't let it get you down man, you got into some GREAT schools! Get excited about them. :) I'm trying to as well.

Well well well, it took me long enough to find this thing. Anyways.

So yeah, Berkeley it is. I'm sort of in cahoots with a woman named Nancy Scheper-Hughes at Cal, and she is really big in medical anthro, so much so that she wants me to have dinner w/ her and Paul Farmer! But yeah, Cal is being great to me, and I'm glad I'm here because frankly, the connections that this school's med anthro dept has to UCSF are awesome, among other things.

I really loved the time that we all spent on these boards, playing off each others' humor, esp. my knife in the face comments to the chances threads. Anyone who feels like it, please keep in touch.

(ps. if ANYBODY is going into anthro/medical anthro/public health/going to Cal, LET ME KNOW)
