I was wondering about the people who got accepted to UCLA, what grades, SAT scores, EC you did, that probably got you accepted to UCLA. And also any advice to us high school students who wants to attend UCLA. It would be helpful ^^;

bump bump bump bump

a transfer GPA of 3.5+ should get you in at the transfer level

for freshman admissions, it's really unpredictable. there are guys with 4.0s and 1400s who got into Ivy league schools who don't get into UCLA as freshmen. Those guys end up attending UCSD, cuz their admissions is more numbers based.

I know a few guys from HS that got into UCLA as undergrads with decent grades and 1200s. but they were really involved in clubs or had the right skin color.

what does "bump,bump,bump" mean?

I use it all the time, and I actually never knew that. I always assumed it just meant you were "bump"ing the post to the top of the page.

I think it was my essays. I only applied to three UCs, but was accepted at all three. If you're a junior in-state, don't slack off. And other typical "can do" advice. You've probably heard it all already. If you really want my stats, you can pm me.

My advice to you is to do really well on SAT IIs. I know now with the new SAT things will be different, but I heard rumor that UC's heavily weigh your SATIIs. I think my SAT IIs helped me get in, but who knows if its true.

i mean a good sat 2 score is obviously a good thing to back you
but i accepted to ucla i had aweful sat 2 scores and i didnt even fulfill the requirement so you never know

I always assumed it just meant you were "bump"ing the post to the top of the page.

haha thats what it does mean - I think what flopsy mentioned is something that was made up after the term "bump" became ubiquitous in online forums (obviously I could be wrong about that, but this is the first time I've heard that acronym)

<.< be on topic please

hey sixbather i think the reason why people would get rejected from ucla even though they got accepted to ivy leagues is because ucla probably doesnt think the student would pick la over ivy. im not saying the student is overqualified, but ucla does not want to waste their acceptance on someone who most likely would not attend. thats just my guess.
