To All the Prospects Visiting on the 8th

What are you looking forward to? I'm hosting someone and I want to see what you are all most interested in seeing.

okay, i'm not visiting until march, but i just want to be able to hang out with students there to see what they are like and how i fit in. oh and also go to some classes.

I know that my daughter would love to attend a dorm-sponsored party. She's not visiting until later in the spring, though.

Ihaterunning, if you are an admitted student, you can contact the admissions office and they'll set you up with meal passes, athletic facility passes and a student host/hostess who will let you stay in their dorm room, take you along to classes, etc.

In our case, my daughter stayed with friends of my son's. Admissions still set her up with meal and athletic facilities passes. They also have admitted student tours. I went along with her for the tour, but as it was this past Friday, it was wicked cold, and we probably knew more about the campus than our guide did, we ditched it early--don't think he minded, either!

Not sure how it works for prospective students who aren't admitted yet.

im hosting a prospect too. right now, it seems that its from 10-2, so that for many would include a class or two plus lunch. there wont be and dorm sponsored parties during that time - nor are there dorm sponsored parties in general, unless you count dances. normally parties (like the one i hosted for the superbowl in my room) are private events hosted by students in their room.

I thought each dorm had like, "theme" parties from time to time? In lieu of sororities and fraternities, that sort of thing? I know I read that somewhere on the ND threads...
