I know there are a lot of students on here who love to write. I'm one of them.

For all of you, do you share your writing with your parents? I don't. My mother doesn't get it. Of course everyone else who edits it does, but not her... Gosh she's even a native English speaker with no foreign language experiences... I don't get what's so hard about it for her.

Last time I left a file open on my computer of a poem I wrote, mom found it and gushed over it and sent out a mass email to all our relatives/close friends showing them my “adorable little poem”.

I don’t consider myself a good writer (writing is truly like, one of those things that are 100% talent probably), but I don’t and wouldn’t show any of them to my parents anyways.

my parents used to have access to my livejournal if that counts. but it was upsetting them so i stopped. i think if they read my (fiction) writing right now they’d be seriously disturbed. plus i never finish my stories so i never get to show them =/

Haha, I love writing, but I’m so bad at it. I would never, ever show my parents. I don’t even write in regular word documents just in case they’re using my computer some day. My fiction/poetry isn’t sophisticated at all, and even they would recognize that.

umm…no my parents do not enjoy writing, least of all mine. besides i normally write papers for school… but i haven’t written a poem or prose in a heck of a long time. i just kinda stopped doing all my hobbies since senior year. too much stress from college and aps. i need to start again now that things are going to be winding down very very soon. :)

I would never show my parents my writing. They either wouldn’t get it, would criticize it, or wouldn’t care. Or they’d have some sort of reaction that would make me want to burn it all. Anyway, I love writing. It’s my thing.
