To all you 800-ers on the Essay Portion of the SAT's...

Did you 800-ers write a full 5+ paragragh essay?

Is that really what they are looking for?

To me, 25 minutes is not enough time for a 5+ paragraph essay, so I'm not sure if that is what they expect...

How much did you guys write?

I wrote the full 2 pages.

Five paragraphs is not a requirement, and personally I would find it difficult to organize and write five paragraphs in 25 minutes. I wrote four paragraphs (~1.5 pages) and got a 10.

I wrote the full 2 pages, but I didn’t really pay attention to how many paragraphs I had. I just let my thoughts flow onto the page, and it might have resulted in 4-6 paragraphs. I definitely had an introduction and conclusion though.

I got an 800, and I used every single line in the packet, but my main objective was having a strong essay with a thesis, at least 2 good examples, and a tidy conclusion.

I got an 800 and I filled up the two pages and wrote 5 paragraphs. I got a 10.

I wrote a full 2 pages with only 2 examples (so, 4 paragraphs).

I got an 800 (11 essay). I used the full two pages & wrote a strong intro, 2 body paragraphs, and a conclusion. focus on idea flow and you should be fine, because my examples were pretty commonplace, but I presented my arguments strongly & with good coherence.
