I would take Cornell over Berkeley.

"Does it rain alot at Cornell? I hate the rain"

No. It Ithacates.

lilbakagrl : "Berkeley is such a small campus"...

Small?? It's 40% larger than Cornell's! (1,243 vs 743 acres)

Uhhh... from Wikipedia:

"The Berkeley campus encompasses approximately 1,232 acres (5 km²), though the "central campus" occupies only the low-lying western 178 acres (0.7 km²) of this area. Of the remaining 1000 acres (4 km²), approximately 200 acres (0.8 km²) are occupied by the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory; other facilities above the main campus include the Lawrence Hall of Science and several research units, notably the Space Sciences Laboratory, the Mathematical Sciences Research Institute, an undeveloped 800 acres (3.2 km²) ecological preserve, the University of California Botanical Garden and a recreation center in Strawberry Canyon."

Only 178 acres is actual student-based academic facilities. On the other hand, Cornell's main campus is 743 acres.

So yes, Berkeley does have a small campus compared to Cornell's.

cornell all the way!

i don't know if this will be any consolation, it does snow in cornell for a good part of the year but after 4 years there i came to relish the snow, the rain, the sun, all the different kinds of weather you experience in ithaca (i think this is because i had a really good time at cornell). also it doesn't rain there nearly as much as it does in cambridge mass (and it gets just as cold in cambridge)

berkeley fo sho...you all just wish you could go to school in california :)

o yeah, i should have said, i chose cornell over berkeley. altho i was at berkeley for summer school freshman year summer and i liked it well enough (but i LOVE cornell)

^ Duke,

Didn't you get waitlisted at Cornell? >_>

lol just messin...

^lol...yeah but prolly because i just sorta applied on a whim with no real expectation of attending. i guess i didn't demonstrate as much interest as the admitted students.

Yeah..that must be it..

lol

whatever, i had some excellent colleges to choose from...you know the usual Princeton, Harvard, Yale, Stanford, MIT, etc. clearly my waitlist at cornell was due to tuft's syndrome...lol

Clearly. lol.

So why'd ya end up picking Berkley over Princeton, Harvard, Yale, Stanford, and MIT..?

Berkley just must be THAT good, right?

psh...princeton, harvard, yale, stanford, and mit said i was too smart to go there. they said it i would intimidate the other students. berkeley offered to pay me the tuition that i was supposed to pay them. i just couldn't refuse. berkeley is also granting me credit for a full four year bachelors degree...i just have to show up to some classes as a formality, you know just to make it legit :)

Geeze no wonder!

I'd have to take that deal too, dude. Why even make you come to the classes at Berkley? They should just give you your A+ and move on.

And yeah...I'd hate for all those kids at Harvard and such to feel stupid. They have such fragile egos - you'd make em cry with your intelligence.
