To apply or not to apply

Hi, This is my first time posting here so I hope I do everything right  Anyway, I am currently a junior at a very competitive public high school in the north east. I really want to apply to Brown because I am absolutely in love with the school and thus, want to apply there early as I love the college and, truthfully, it is SLIGHTLY easier to get in early from my school. However, I’m not sure if I should given my gpa and other various stats and I don’t want to relinquish the possibility of applying to another school early which I also love, but not as much as Brown:

Anyway, here’s my stats:
Freshman year: 3.6-3.7ish gpa weighted
Sophomore year: 3.8ish gpa weighted
Junior year so far: 4.1-4.2 gpa weighted
Cumulative so far: Probably around a 3.9 or 3.8 something like that
SAT scores: I haven’t taken the SAT officially yet, I guess i’ll post that when i take it in May - however, my first practice test was a 2000 or something like that
AP scores:
5 on APUSH exam
This year: all honors and APs except for math which I suck at (taking two APs and self studying both english APs)
Senior Year: AP Psych, AP Euro, AP Enviormental, Honors Physics, Stat/AP Stat/ Precalc (not sure yet), AP English even though i’ll have taken the exams already
Awards:
-History Scholar (freshman year)
-History Scholar (sophomore year)
-Highest award for history in department, according to my teacher at the time, not trying to brag (sophomore year)
Extra curricular/various tidbits:
-founded club as a sophomore that is now really successful, President (2 years)
-President of Diversity club (2 years)

  • Team Captain of Mock Trial (1 year) and given head attorney spot as a freshman and years following
-Head Chair and founder of RESPECT (Interfaith and Interracial) Committee and leader of various seminars within RESPECT
-aided Philosophy professor at a university in my area this year
-published a children’s book (not widely read or anything, just in the community)
-collection of poetry set to be published soon
-I have a novel in the works but God know when that will be ready, although the subject matter contributes to my interest in Brown and my intended major
-organized a holiday toy drive/nonviolence campaign in school
-idk, i’m learning an African language if that matters
-I can sort of ride a unicycle (I know, KEY to Brown admissions right there haha)

Anyway, I’m just seeing what ya’ll think. I know my gpa is low for Brown so I’m just seeing if you think I should apply early, apply regular or not apply at all and what my chances, if any, are.
Also, if you don’t mind, what other schools in an urban enviorment with a brown like feel too it do you think I should consider that might be more on my par?? Thanks so much! :)

Of course you should apply.
I wouldn’t game the ED/ RD decision-- ED should be your first choice school. You say you don’t want to relinquish the opportunity to apply to another school early, but even with a early application boost (if any) admissions at top schools are very uncertain. And if you apply early to another school, you could be giving up the opportunity to apply to Brown at all.
