to all those that have already attended uiuc...or at least spent a year there

is there any chances of getting to chicago during a weekday? heard of anyone carpooling, or taking a bus down there for somethin important?

i know it should be the least of my concerns, but i have missed interpol way too many times [this question is based on hope that they come during the fall.]

If you find the right friends who have cars, they might be able to take up to Chicago. It would be a lot cheaper that way. However, there are bus alternatives:

Taking the Illini Amtrack train is also a way to get to chicago, I mean you'd have to get to the satation on your own ($3 taxi or bus), but if you order in advance it can be cheaper. Trust me you have much more leg room, a dining cart and its pretty fast.

well, I'm not really a fan of those bands (save weezer, but only the old stuff... does that count?)
Anyhow, unless something drastic happens, all of my classes are going to be from 8a-1p, so I'm looking forward to trips in the area, mostly shows and snowboarding. Off the top of my head, I know I'm going to Chicago for Minus the Bear. I was entertaining the idea of a carpool to some shows but it doesn't matter terribly much. It would be kind of cool to have company on the drive or at least to have some one chip in for gas, though.
