To High Scorers: I'm Frustrated/Need Help!

Hi everybody! I know there have probably been a thousand threads just like this one but...
I took the SAT yesterday and it really didn't go as well as I had hoped. After looking at these boards I realized how many questions I got wrong. Although I don't know my score yet, I'm quite certain I'll be taking the test again in October. My question is: how should I prepare this summer? I really don't know what to do anymore. I've taken every test in the CB Blue book and I got 2200+ and then 2300+ on the last three tests. I had a private Kaplan tutor and everything! I really thought I was ready but I don't know what happened yesterday. I really want at least 2250. I'm guessing (or hoping, rather) that my score from yesterday will be 2thousand something. So, all you high-scorers, I need your help! What books should I use this summer? What methods should I use? Thanks!

Sounds like test anxiety to me
Why don't you take the ACT instead?

How would taking the ACT help if his problem was anxiety?

Slightly different test. ..the test taker shouldn't bring any baggage from the SAT. This may help change the test taker's level of anxiety

In cognitive behavioral therapy it is called "reframing" an event--looking at something from a different point of view or taking a new tact as a means of coping

woah momofaKnight thats high level stuff u talkin bout there but it all makes sense dosent it.. i too think that its anxiety n nothing else.. mayb a short vacation or even a movie or something to calm ur nerves and how bout a movie or a football game or something that day b4 ur exam..

I was totally relaxed the night before. I just watched movies and stuff. I don't know if it was anxiety...my timing wasn't its best but I genuinely had a lot of trouble with the critical reading. I just found it very difficult. I'd really rather take the SAT than the ACT, but thank you for the suggestion. Oh, I should probably include that the areas I need to perfect my abilities in are math and critical reading. Writing isn't a problem.

i suggest you also buy the online course from CB. 6 more practice tests and explanations that the CB gives themselves so you will know how they think. if you already bought it then i dont know!

forgettable i see a lot of me in u..
even i hav difficulty wit math n cr n writing wsa relative good..
i had my first attempt in jan:680M,680CR,720W(11 ESSAY)
the one thing that everybody talk bout for CR and i too seem to think taht it works is to work on ur vocab.
it might seem dry to lean a list of words but i think it pays off...

Should I get the Barron's 2400 book or just keep doing practice tests?

I have the Barron's 2400 - I wouldn't say its better than the blue book / real SATs.

well revise ur weaker links and then do tests..
