to put unofficial AMC12 scores in add. info?

Hello.

I am a math nerd but I didn't know about the AMC tests/math competitions in general until this summer. The February test date for the AMC12 will be to late for college apps, and I am scoring in the qualifying range for AIME on old tests currently. Should I mention my unofficial scores and note that I was not aware of the test until recently? I obviously will not state them as official. My thinking right now is that it can't possibly hurt my application.

Thanks.

bump 10 char

Well I guess it wouldn’t hurt but there’s no way for colleges to check so the scores would be useless.

So you will not have taken the tests, but you are thinking of self reporting your score based on practice tests you take on your own? That is a definite no.

Anyway my daughter took the AMC12 and the AIME and didn’t put it on her application anywhere. I don’t think it occurred to us, but maybe saying you actually qualified or took the AIME would be good to put, in hindsight. but reporting practice tests won’t be any more useful than reporting your SAT practice test as your high score.

I understand. I am disappointed I cannot demonstrate my aptitude for math in the context of contests. Thanks for the help all.
