Yea. So basically my family and I always look at the upcoming schedule for the next week at lunch on Sundays. We noticed that everyday for the next two weeks after school I have Tennis Meets, taking up the time slot of 4:00-8:00 every night. (Including missing school to travel, making it sometimes 2:00-10:00...)

Because of all those meets, I can't attend any AP review sessions, and I wont be able to attend any of my other ECs. I wouldn't be able to start my HW until late and I'm afraid I'd be too tired to do it and I'd get behind. I've already had to compromise my time with tennis a little bit this year due to having (more important IMO) things to do.

I feel like instead of only attending half of those meets, which would **** the coach off (and I'd stay JV the rest of my years with the team) that I should just drop it and not waste both of our time.

It sucks having so many things to do.

Do you guys think I should drop it? Or should I "tough" it out? What would you guys do?

Edit: It's important to note, I never played tennis for the college application. I will still play it in the summer/with friends, but just not on the team.

We missed 2 days a week, every week for a month. and the month before that, we missed every friday for a month. it wasn’t fun at all… and I have lots of other EC’s to do, just like you.

I’m on the Varsity team as a freshman (I’m pretty good… not like national level, but state). I toughed it out… but I’m not taking any AP’s (not offered to underclassman). But I’m quitting tennis after the required 2 years of PE so I can focus on acting.

If there is something you could spend your time on that’s more important, and if you think you’re loosing something while playing tennis, then quit.

Gotta love spring sports…assuming you are a junior here, your grades are infinitely more important than your tennis, for now…
and since you are on JV, not sure it would really matter anyway…

If you love tennis (the way my daughters do), you will be playing the rest of your life; most, if not all, colleges have intramural and/or club teams…

full disclosure here: my older daughter had this EXACT decision to make during her junior year (lacrosse) and she was on Varsity; quit lacrosse to keep up her grades…all worked out in the end…

In life your always setting priorities - It doesn’t sound like casual team tennis is your priority anymore… Move on quickly, but use your time wisely because you never get more of it…
