To stay or transfer

Hello all,

Most of you know what I'm going through. but here's a quick recap.

Started my current school after high school in 2008 and had hell adjusting to it. nothing went right at all. Had very few friends that turned out to not be good, had roommate issues, my school's housing department wasnt helpful at all since I wanted to move, didnt do well in alot of my classes and had to drop alot, been in trouble with the school for plagiarism twice (please dont judge harshly on this, as the situation is more complicated than this), was on disciplinary probation, separated last spring while having a nervous break down, took the rest of the year off and went to community college, did well there and felt great since I was near home and not 100% miserable like at my current school, now back and things are going better but Im still considering transferring as I still hate it here. I just lost the one thing that would make me stay here which was my best friend but we're no longer friends (another topic) and now I just feel like I have no reason to stay. I talked with my counselor and we agreed that I should consider this decision during a period of strength (academically) which would be now.

Right now I go to Case Western and Im considering transferring to OSU. I have a 2.8 right now which will be up to about 3. something after this semester. Right now I am a Polymer Science and Engineering major but havent started on it. havent started on any major so I guess you could say I wasted 3 years but I dont see it that way. This semester im finishing up the pre reqs and some core classes for engineering and Im sure the credits would transfer over.

I started out as Chem E and due to not getting any support from my department and talking to people in a different department, I switched to Polymers where they're guaranteeing me a research project and lots of support. I enjoy it alot. But it is not really enough to make me want to stay in Cleveland or Case; however, in my mind I think I would be making a big mistake by leaving and not graduating from this school even though I would think that OSU would be more widely know for engineering (not sure just my thought)

as of right now, im in the process of talking to some of the people in the Chem E department at OSU and the other engineering departments to see what they are all about and get more information as far as transferring and credits. Technically, at case Im still a sophomore but will be 1 credit shy of being a junior after this semester. at Case, to graduate in 2 years I would have to do a really rigorous schedule, other wise I could graduate in 3 years. For OSU I would basically have to do 3 years since they have an application for their engineering program and I have to be accepted.

So basically, what I am asking is your guy's thoughts as to what I should do or consider doing. Thanks
