And where did you go that was so special? Just sayin' it's not about getting good grades that gets you 100% chance getting into a good colllege, y'know. Sucks for us, tho who work our butts off only to go to a State University that people with lower grades got anyway. At least I still have time to be dissapointed :(

Definately did not enjoy the high school experience. Senior year was pretty good though, probably because I kept thinking "I'm leaving biatches!!! WOOT!"
College is better, but I'm not going in with the mentality that this will be the best __ years of my life, because that mentality failed with high school. And besides, I have my whole life ahead of me. 4 years out of however many I live seems disappointing :(

I thought I liked high school until I got to college, and then I realized how much high school sucked and how miserable I was.

I still have 2+ months before I can go back...:(.

I don't know if this will be the "best time of my life," but it's certainly the best time of my life so far.

You know, I'm sort of an outcast and a weirdo, and I absolutely despised my first two years of HS, but junior and senior year, I had a whole ton of fun with teachers and classes and my classmates, even though they can be idiots (in a completely different way than me, I've been plenty stupid). Met some really awesome people, and some other nerds, and some *******s.

I agree with McGizzle, living the past 4 years would be great (with added social experience), except for the classes part. Reliving Geometry would be a major pain in the ass.

I loved high school--every minute of it. The teachers were awesome, the administrators were cool (especially the IT and video guys, who I worked for) and I met some of the nicest people ever there, all of whom I still remain close to.

I was not an outcast and was popular during my day. The student body resepected me more for my contributions to the computer department (I put in hundreds of hours of service over the course of three summers and also worked a good deal during the school year) than anything else. The teachers all liked me too, and always want to have me back. The students enjoy when I come back as well (the folks still left, I should say). Some in the community have affectionately dubbed me "The Mayor".

College is a whole different story. Very few people know who I am. The professors all get along great with me, but the kids don't seem to want to warm up to me. I transferred to where I am now in January and at my old school, I was public enemy number one because they thought of me as a huge outcast--I don't drink, am waiting until marriage to have sex, and was always writing complaint letters to the administrators because the kids were noisy every night and I couldn't sleep at all, causing me to get dangerously ill!

As much as I like the classes I am taking at college, I would do anything to go back to high school for two more years or so--at least until all of my freshmen graduate...wow, they're all going to be juniors this year...

And for the record, over half of my tee shirts are from my high school and I still flaunt my pride today. Not to mention I still do work for them in the video and IT departments, plus the auto tech class still services my car.

High School: 10/10 social, 8/10 academic, 10/10 other stuff
College: 4/10 social, 10/10 academic, 6/10 other stuff

HS was fine. I had fun. I didn't go to a high quality HS so my peers weren't exactly the best and the brightest.

Lots of wealthy kids at my school. I always loved pulling into a parking space in my standard transmission, brown, toyota terricel and grind gears right as I was pulling up to somes girls BMW, Mustang, Mercedes.
I miss that car.

Yeah, there were a lot of new luxury cars at my HS as well. I also had a luxury car, but it was 16 years old during my senior year (1988 Acura Legend). I too found it fun to park between a BMW M3 and a Cadillac Escalade, only to think that I might not have something brand new but at least I have leather seats and a fancy automatic transmission (the Legend could be shifted three different ways--normal, sport with three gears, and sport with four; the sport tranny shifts at a different speed).

Then there was my friend with a 1982 Plymouth GranFury...ancient, huge, powerful, noisy...but fun. (His car finally died about a month ago, he is going to sell it to a classic car enthusiast)

Doesn't sound like any high school I've ever heard of

i wasnt aware the IT department was so well respected in high school

High school was awful and a waste of time. I had more fun hanging out with my family and the school had too many racial problems for me. The academics were pretty boring [there wasn't a lot of classes to choose from]. I rushed Senior year by as fast as I could and I don't regret it that much. I just hope the next four years are WAY better than my high school years.

so, college will still be fun, even if you had the time of your life (up until that point in your life) in high school? i'm a little skeptical because i REALLY loved high school, and i hope to REALLY REALLY love college. i'm just hoping that college is what you make of it, so that i can make it an awesome time.

"i'm just hoping that college is what you make of it"

Who you hang around definitely helps - that and the location of the college. Berkeley is close to San Francisco, so I'm just a 5 min subway ride away from good times.

im having the worst years of my life in high school. hoping that college life will more than make up for it.

HATED high school. with an intense, crazy passion.

And really, if my peak was in high school, or even college, shoot me please. Seriously. There's life after school and stuff.

loved high school, had a lot of fun. love college, have a lot of fun.

though "fun" is a little different in the two scenarios though haha.

i'm actually surprised to see so many people hating their high school life, cuz I for one loves it, espacially this last year, most of my friends loves it as well, and definitely feels that we will miss it, espacially the friendships we made with each other.

on the other hand, im excited to go to college as well, so its pretty contradicting hahaa

Hated high school with a fiery passion (being in a year full of really preppy girls will do that), love college.

i disliked high school, even though i went to a great one. college looks so much better. breathing room..

i loved highschool because i had so much freetime. All i did was hang out with my friends, play sports and game all day. I did maybe 1 hour of copying every week and the rest of the time i just chilled. College is the same for me except i don't have to go to classes, which is a plus, but i do have to study for midterms/finals.

I loved my HS. I had amazing teachers (some of whom left college prof positions to teach at my HS), a beautiful campus, a very friendly environment where even though I wasn't "popular" everyone was nice and polite and friendly. We all knew eachother, and there wasn't a single person I wouldn't have felt 100% comfortable working on a project with. I had great friends, and great activities. I wasn't an AMAZING student but I held a 3.4 where I was learning for the sake of learning and not just for the grades. I was really challenged there. College I like okay. I LOVE all of the free time and how much is of my own choice, and having days in the middle of the week where I have no classes. I don't have as good of friends in college, and I miss my cats a lot. I like the clubs I'm in a lot, and I like walking everywhere as I've lost about 10 lbs. Academically I'm doing much better in college than I ever did in HS (probably because I'm able to pick the classes I take), and am finding all of my classes to be a breeze. I deffinetly loved my HS. I think my expectations were too high for college. I just hope it gets better.
